Brook Rural Museum is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a £20,284 grant from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport via the Arts Council as part of the government’s ‘Victory 80 – Victory in Europe and Victory in Japan Commemoration’ programme.
Brook Rural Museum will commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE and VJ Day from an agricultural perspective, exploring the Dig For Victory Campaign and the impact of WWII on the farming industry in the local area through an engagement project centred on planting an on-site Dig For Victory Garden and supporting interpretation.
We will be commemorating VJ Day on Friday 15 August with tours of the museum focusing on our WWII related exhibits, at 11am and 2pm, book via EventBrite here.
