Collection
Explore our Collection of Agricultural Tools and Machinery
Brook Rural Museum cares for over 1,400 historic items dating from the 18th century to the 1950s. Together they tell the story of agriculture from the age of the horse, through the Industrial Revolution, and beyond. Thanks to a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant we have started cataloguing and digitising our collection to Spectrum standards using a specialist collections management system, and have now started publishing the records on our online catalogue. This is an ongoing process throughout 2024 and the catalogue will be regularly updated.
Online catalogue
There are currently 200 records live on the catalogue, focusing on items from the Oast House.
Donations
Unfortunately, due to storage limitations we are not actively seeking to expand our collections and are unlikely to be able to accept any offers of large items or machinery. We may be able to consider smaller items if they fit within our collections remit. If you would like to offer the museum a historic item please email collections@brookruralmuseum.org.uk with as much information about the item as possible including photographs.
